Treasures in the Snow !

I was sitting at a scrapbooking crop on Saturday when the snow flurries began. You know, even if you say you don’t like snow.…you have to admit that it is beautiful when it is falling....in those first moments when it blankets the ground and covers the dirt ! God brought us snow yesterday, just like he brought us sun today….and both have their own beauty. Both have their own short comings. (Not a lot different from us!)

Now, if you read Evenings by the Sea, you know I love the beach and the warmth you find there. But, I think if we look, we might find a treasure….a traceable trustable treasure tucked away in that snow bank. Willing to bundle up and see where the Lord leads us….even if it is into the snow ?
*The picture is from our Maine vacation in December 2009 where we of course had snow.

Snow, is very often mentioned in the Bible as a descriptive word.… as in Psalm 51:7 "Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."

Since we can visualize how white snow is, we can also visualize how clean we will be after the Lord washes our sins away.

Isaiah 1:18  "Come now, let us reason together," says the LORD. "Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red as crimson, they shall be like wool."

How beautifully the Lord describing the process of whitening our scarlet sins to be snow white !When you think about what a miracle it takes to turn our filthy sins into white snow, you know that this verse Contains a tremendous treasure! Could this possibly be the answer to Job’s question in Job 38:22~~ Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow?

One of my favorite verses is  Isaiah 55:9-11
“ For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, but water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater: So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
This verse talks about how the snow and rain come down from heaven and do not return but water the earth…just like God’s precious Word comes from Him , goes forth and does not return but does what the Lord has for it to do. So, the next time it snows, remember the Lord made the snow just like he made the sun and maybe you will also remember these treasures in the snow…. traceable trustable treasures in the snow~

Evenings by the Sea

A trusted friend wrote on my last blog “ why do we choose to play in mud puddles instead of taking a holiday by the sea ?"  I had already decided that my next blog topic would be about evenings with the Lord…this comment started my hands and heart to going. So lets see where the Lord leads us together.....possibly by the sea ??

I don’t know about you, but I love being at the waterfront. It can be a lake or river or best of all, the ocean. I actually took the above picture when we were in Hawaii with our friends, the Rizzutos. It was as beautiful as it looks, and I couldn’t help but feel God’s presence all around me. Our day had been very rushed…..driving and walking and sight seeing. But with the evening came a time to sit and relax and reflect; to even play a game or just talk together and enjoy sweet fellowship . A perfect ending to a busy, busy day. The Lord and His disciples often left the hustle of the city for the seaside or the mts in the evening.
John 6:16 When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake Luke 21:37  Each day Jesus was teaching at the temple, and each evening he went out to spend the night on the hill called the Mount of Olives
And it is a perfect time to reflect back on all the Lord had done for us that day…to remember the blessings and the “I Spies” of that day…

1 Chronicles 16:12  Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgments he pronounced
To repent for the moments I willing spent in the mud puddles and the times when I may have actually slung it !

Psalm17:3  You have tried my heart, you have visited me by night, you have tested me..

A time to set the record straight and a time to purge our hearts

Psalm 139:23  Search me O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts!

May our sleep be sweet and we may awaken with a heart that is eager and ready to search for the “Treasures of the Morning”…….Traceable, Trustable Treasures

TREASURES in the MORNING

There are some of us who consider ourselves to be morning people …..some of us say we are definitely not morning people…..So how do you tell if you are or not ???

Maybe you could ask yourself these questions when you wake up tomorrow…..What are your first thoughts when you open your eyes ? What is your mood or mindset ? What are your first words?

You know, whether we consider ourselves morning people or not, we miss out on some Traceable Trustable Treasures if we don’t avail ourselves of these morning hours with joy in the presence of our Lord. Even Jesus spent the very early hours of the day with his Father…
Mark 1:35... Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed.
God's faithfulness in on display every single day. Every new morning is a gift from God, and a sign of His eternal presence.

Psalm 5:3... In the morning, O LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.
A verse that I love to sing as well as recite is
Lamentations 3:22-23... The LORD'S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
God's faithfulness in on display every single day. Every new morning is a gift from God, and a sign of His eternal presence. Every new day brings new reasons to praise Him ! With each dawn, the wonders of creation and God's grace and love are evident anew. “weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.” Psalms 30:5

This does not mean that if you sleep in you will not experience God’s presence or His grace, mercy, and love. It only serves as a reminder; like Psalm 90:14…If we allow the Lord to “Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love” then “we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.”

Let me end with another set of verses which I love to recite in song…you will recognize them I am sure…but let me read them with you out of the Amplified version of the Bible and see if your heart isn’t as blessed by these words as mine was.

Psalm 5:1-3... Listen to my words, O Lord, give heed to my sighing and groaning. Hear the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to You do I pray.
In the morning You hear my voice, O Lord; in the morning I prepare a prayer and a sacrifice for You; and watch and wait for You to speak to my heart.
Seek the Lord and his Traceable Trustable Treasures while they may be found, call on him while he is near.

The Master's Master Plan

We all have different spiritual gifts and talents. Some of us see the details when we look at a project and some of us see the BIG picture! But, no matter which “gift” is ours, we all fall prey to the same problem….I know because I have quitr often fallen prey to it myself !!  And I am learning that although we may want to, we don’t really need to,  fully see or completely understand what is going on in our lives......We only need to know that He sees and He understands.
Jeremiah 29:11 says “ For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
He knows the plans He has for us; and His knowledge of that plan gives us hope. If our hope is found in Him, then our trust should be there as well. And what about the hope that this knowledge gives us…

Psalm 130:7 tells us “…put your hope in the LORD, for with the LORD is unfailing love and with him is full redemption…”
David tells us repeatedly in the Psalms to PUT our hope in the Lord….so then, we have a choice…We can choose to rest in Him and the knowledge of His Master Plan. And we can trust Him to take total care of us; not needing to know everything...only that He knows everything.

With such treasure verses as these, why do we coninue to find it so necessary to know exactly what the Lord is doing in our lives?……Why do we  worry when we know that....

He sees the master plan
And He holds our future in His hands...

So don't live as those who have no hope
All our hope is found in Him....

So when you don't understand,
When you can't see His plan,
When you can't trace His hand,
“Trust His Heart”

What's in a Name??

Everyone’s blog has a name. I chose an unusual name for my blog but I gave you easy access to it with just using my own name.
So why did I chose the name I did? Well, anyone who knows me, knows I love singing and I also love God’s word…..thus the name came first from a song that has been and is posted on my profile “Trust His Heart” which is also the quote on my blog~
God is too wise to be mistaken, God is too good to be unkind, So when you don't understand, When don't see his plan, When you can't trace his hand~Trust His Heart.
And second, His treasures are all available for you in His Holy Word. You just have to search them out
Prov 2:4-5  If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.
.....So there you have it “Traceable Trustable Treasures.” And while there are many times when we can’t see what God is doing in our lives, or the lives of those we love, His Word is always there to give us His promises and His Holy Spirit will always guide us into all truth. I don’t know about you, but if I didn’t have that blessed assurance I would be pretty lost and feel pretty alone.
So I hope my weekly thoughts will uplift and encourage your heart and send you running into the Word of God and thus into the arms of our Lord and Saviour. Today I will end with a scripture that is all-time favorite…..in fact it was my life verse when I graduated from Open Bible in…...well many years ago!!
Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Trust in the Lord and find those “Traceable Trustable Treasures”
